Hundreds of people and creatures emerged on Albion, Michigan’s Superior Street, on Saturday, October 30, 2022. Many of those who appeared were not who they appeared to be. There were characters from the movie “The Wizard of Oz” and Charlie Brown characters, including Charlie himself. There were witches, goblins, and dogs pretending to be bumble bees. Tables were lined up along the storefronts handing out sweets to the little ones, and a few big people got some treats too.
The event was a huge success, and it was organized by the Greater Albion Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Billy Beers.
The winners of the decoration costume for the table displays won Albion money and recognition for their creativity. First Place was Dr. Stahl’s Family Dentistry with the Wizard of Oz theme. Each character was well-costumed and appeared to be on their way to the Emerald City.
Second Place went to Charlie’s Tavern with the “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!” theme.
Third Place went to Brandy Eggleston, Edward Jones Investments with their large spider one of the eye catching creatures on the street that day.
Many more photos of costumed children, parents, and pets are at the bottom of this post, but first we would like to show a quick slideshow of our favorites, set to spooky music. Sweets on Superior Street is a fun way to get out and laugh, see some friends, and do something fun with the kids. Everyone seemed a bit like a kid at this event. Anna’s House of Flowers had a contest to locate the metal Charlie Brown characters and the winner is shown below as the featured image of the photo slideshow.
