Saturday August 26.
Join us in Stoffer Plaza for an afternoon of music representing a cross-section of Michigan talent across multiple genres! There will 7 acts on 2 stages – food tents from Rustbelt Ramen, Mr. Reid’s Wonder Wagon, and Rosie’s Flavors – a beer and wine tent in the works – and a few more surprises to come.
Music will kick off at noon with last year’s Walk the Beat winner Ann Wade, performing music off of her upcoming EP Hearing Colors and making her full band debut. She will be followed on the main stage by Detroit Queercore punk rockers Low Lives in High Places and Jackson-based R&B soul rockers Big L and Code Blu!
Between full band performances you’ll find solo/duo acts on the second stage, including jazz/pop instrumental flute maestro Brandon Marceal, old-time and Celtic picker Banjo Mike Evans, and Detroit Alt-country phenom The Whiskey Charmers.
The festival will be capped off by Nashville recording artist Myron Elkins making his Albion debut (at approximately 4:30pm)! Myron is originally from Otsego, MI and released his first album “Factories, Farms, and Amphetamines” to rave reviews earlier this year. Since then he’s riding a wave of success including features in Rolling Stone magazine, spots on major festivals such as Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, and Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Tour, and opening slots with such legendary acts as Markus King and Charlie Crockett. This is one you won’t want to miss!
After the festival, all are invited to the after party at Albion Malleable Brewing Company featuring a 7pm performance by Detroit hard rockers Edison Hollow.
