Albion School Board meeting February 9, 2016

One big part of the meeting was a report from a consultant that was appointed by the Michigan Department of Treasury, Bruce Caswell.  He discussed what will need to happen if Albion voters reject annexation at the Tuesday, May 3, 2016 election.  Enrollment would need to be increased, funds would need to be borrowed, additional funds would need to be raised, and Albion voters would also need to approve a renewal of a non homestead property tax.  A pdf file of his report is available by clicking here.  A video of his explanation of the document is available in two parts.

The first part was after two hours of the meeting. To jump to the beginning of his talk click here.

The video of the meeting had to be split into two parts, so to see the second part of the presentation click here.

To see the entire two parts of the 3 1/2 hour video – visit the City of Albion YouTube channel page by clicking here.

Mr. Caswell has indicated that he is willing to come and discuss his report with any group of people in Albion.  To arrange for him to come, call the Albion Public Schools Superintendents office several weeks before the time of the meeting. 517-629-9166 x-3
