Albion went without the Bohm Theatre being open or lit for about 20 years. Now, thanks to fundraising efforts by a group of Albion citizens, and especially the Albion Community Foundation, the Bohm Theatre is showing movies, and also live performances.
The Blues at the Bohm happens the first Monday of most months. (See our entertainment page for more information.) There are also live music events sponsored by “Swingin’ at the Shell.” In August 2015, there is a live performance by 4-H youth. Read more about that event in this article by the Battle Creek Enquirer. “At 7 p.m. Tuesday August 18, 2015 , the group of about 50 kids will put on a show at the Bohm Theatre, 201 S. Superior St. The play is called “History Repeats Itself” and is based on the true story of what happened when Albion school administrators wanted to diversify the district’s teaching staff in the 1960s.”
