General Guide to Albion – Issue XIII – October 2015 – Big Read Edition

The book that was chosen by Albion leaders for Albion’s Big Read is “The Wizard of Earthsea” by Ursula Le Guin. The book features a young man going thru challenges and a transformation. He encounters dragons along the way. Quite a few dragons. So this General Guide has many dragons hidden in the design. One is in the image above.

Welcome to the online version of the General Guide to Albion. Issue XIII is the second of a series about Literacy in Albion. The October issue features Albion’s Big Read. October in Albion is a time we adjust to being back in school,  Halloween, harvests, raking leaves, and Albion College Homecoming.   This year our own city of Albion was chosen for a special national reading event, that is called “The Big Read.”   October’s General Guide will share a few of the details.  The Big Read, a program created by the National Endowment for the Arts,  provides communities with many different ways of interacting with books and also with each another.

We will be adding new posts related to each General Guide in the month it is current, and we will keep these posts sorted by topic.
