Albion, Michigan — Albion’s Health & Safety Expo is back in full swing this year! This annual event will be held on Saturday, June 29, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Albion Ambulance and Fire Station, 207 N. Clinton Street. It’s a great opportunity to learn about improving health and safety for you and your family.

The event will feature over 20 local organizations offering resources to help navigate emergencies, food safety, and energy efficiency at home. Coordinated by the Albion Health Care Alliance (AHCA), this free, family-friendly event promises a wealth of information and activities for all ages. Attendees will receive free first aid kits, bicycle helmets, and more, while supplies last. There will also be a chance to win gift cards and six different bicycles for various age groups.

This year’s Health and Safety Expo is particularly special as it marks a return to in-person activities after a few years of drive-through events due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Event organizer Alfredia Dysart-Drake emphasized the importance of community awareness, stating, “It is so important for our community to know that all of these agencies are here to serve the community. A lot of the time, people do not realize the programs and services that are available to them.”

The AHCA, located in the Ralph & Mary Cram building at 115 Market Place, Albion, MI, plays a crucial role in addressing the health needs of the greater Albion area by providing vital health services and resources.

This event is made possible by the support of SEEL, LLC, the Albion-Homer United Way, Bronson Health Care, the Albion Volunteer Service Organization, Oaklawn Hospital, UnitedHealthcare, Forks Senior Center, CareWell Services, the Calhoun County Public Health Department, and Meridian.
