Starr Commonwealth

The gateway at Starr has a plaque that describes the ongoing mission of Starr Commonwealth.

The Unfinished Work

Uncle Floyd often said, “As long as there is a child in trouble the work of the Starr Commonwealth will never be finished.”

In 1980 this gateway was erected. It was Uncle Floyd’s desire to mortar in the final stone.

But he passed away before this could be accomplished.

This stone was left without mortar to symbolize Floyd Starr’s philosophy.
