Voting for Albion Youth – may our kids win

The Albion Public Schools District will hold a vote of the electorate on May 3rd, 2016 in which the following question will be asked:

“Shall Albion Public Schools, Calhoun and Jackson Counties, Michigan, be annexed to Marshall Public Schools, Calhoun County, Michigan, to be effective July 1, 2016?”

Polls will be open (7 a.m. thru 8 p.m) on  Tuesday May 3, 2016.

News from City Clerk – Albion Wildcat logos and words on clothing or signs will not be allowed within 100 yards of polling places.

We know the Wildcats will still be in the hearts of all voters for both sides.
But even more important is the future of our young people. We encourage our readers to vote for the best possible education for our youth.

Watch a conversation with school officials and a former Albion Wildcat to learn about how the declining enrollments led to a decrease of resources.  These included the closure of art classes, sports programs, music and even the STEM programs during the first semester this year at Albion Public Schools.  This, and the closing of the Albion Middle School all preceded  this difficult time when a tough decision needs to be made by the people of Albion on behalf of our youth.
