Swingin’ at the Shell concert series began in 2003. Before that time there were community band concerts with local talent. The new concerts featured statewide talent and grew in popularity as the word spread. This year’s series features musicians from around Michigan, several with connections to Albion or Marshall. We did some research so you can learn about the bands and even hear some of them perform here in videos before you come out. These concerts generally have refreshments available such as brats, popcorn and water, and the sales help to support local organizations. This year also there are two new businesses in downtown Albion that would love to have you stop by before the concert. These are the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel, that has a nice lounge with light dinners and drinks, and the Albion Malleable Brewing Co. Other Albion restaurants are traditionally closed on Sundays with the exception of La Casa Mexicana, near the highway, and some chain restaurants also near exit 121 on the business loop. Please come to Albion, bring some chairs or blankets, and be ready to relax for an evening of entertainment. Welcome.
Concerts are held on Sunday evenings at 6 p.m.
