We had a great time at our first (hopefully) annual Mother Son Dance. Grand March photos from the photographer will be posted in a few weeks, these are just sneak peaks. Thank you to all those families that helped take time out of their busy lives to help make this event special. From volunteering your time during the dance, baking yummy goodies to help keep bellies full, to decorating Friday night, these events couldn't be done without you. Without you these events would not happen! We look forward to next year ALREADY!

NOMINATIONS SOUGHT

FOR MARSHALL’S 2018-2019 “TEACHER OF THE YEAR”

It’s that time of the year! Marshall Public Schools is seeking nominations from parents, students, colleagues and community members for Marshall’s “Teacher of the Year.” The nominee should be an exceptionally skilled and dedicated teacher in the Marshall school system who spends a majority of his/her time in the classroom setting. The nominee should also have the respect and admiration of students, parents and colleagues and play an active and useful role in the school and community environment.

The following will apply to all nominations:

1. Teachers employed by Marshall Public Schools and actively teaching in the classroom at least 50% of the time are eligible for nomination.

2. Nominations may be submitted by individuals associated with Marshall Public Schools (employees, students, parents, community members) including out-of-district School of Choice families.

3. Nominations should include the teacher’s name, building location and the reason for the nomination. A signature on the nomination is requested and, unless otherwise specified by the nominator, the nomination will later be shared with the nominee.

It is stressed that while all qualifications should be considered, the most important is the nominee should have a “superior ability to inspire the love of learning in students of all backgrounds and abilities.”

The deadline for submitting nominations is Thursday, March 28, 2019. Nominations should be placed in a sealed envelope addressed to: Marshall Public Schools, Teacher of the Year Committee, 100 East Green Street, Marshall, MI 49068. Envelopes may be dropped off at any school office, the district central administrative offices, or sent via U.S. mail.

Great job!Congratulations to the Marshall FFA Demostration Team! This week at Michigan FFA State Convention, they competed and were chosen as the State Winners! Their hard work paid off this week, but it didn't start this week. These members put in countless hours preparing and practicing for months while also making their way through District and Regional contests to even earn a chance to compete at State. Once at State, they had to compete 3 times, against all the other Regional winners and the final time on the big stage at the Wharton Center in front of over 1,500 people. The team includes: Harrison Hautau, Sara Horton, Emma Ruedisueli, James Ruedisueli. Congratulations! Other state awards for Marshall FFA members included: Mara Tiernan, Silver State, GH public speaking Tegan Roberts, State Degree Harrison Hautau, Sara Horton, Sam Kiessling, Austin Munson, Emma Ruedisueli, and Lucas Settineri, Outstanding Junior Awards Paige Bouwens and Tegan Roberts, Gold State Academic Excellence Awards Harrison Hautau, Sara Horton, and Lucas Settineri, Silver State Academic Excellence Awards. Congrats Marshall FFA! ... See MoreSee Less
