If you are new to Albion, welcome!

Albion Public Schools were annexed with Marshall Public Schools in 2016. This was a difficult decision. Much of the newly enlarged school district is about 12 miles from Albion.

Editorial (my opinion) By: Stephen McKenzie Isolation 2020 Let me begin by saying this: "The most dangerous plague on our world today, is NOT the Wuhan virus... It is willful stupidity." There are those who claim - that there are more than two genders... Those who claim - that White privilege - exists... Those who claim - that socialism, is a good thing... That the lives of criminals and thugs - matter... That only white people - are racist... That people who've been in office for over 30 years(and did NOTHING for the people they represent) are good candidates for President of the United States... That a man with the symptoms of dementia - is acceptable, as a presidential candidate... That borderwalls - are immoral, and don't work... That it's ok to come here illegally, and collect benefits in place for citizens - with nothing to offer in return... That abortions are ok - past the first tri-mester... That media - tells the unbiased truth... That homosexuality is natural - and not sexual deviance... That I should call an obvious He - a She, because that's what they identify as personally... That other countries - are better than ours... That there is such a thing, as an honest politician... That "people of color" - excludes Caucasians... That our president - doesn't care about our country, even tho he doesn't collect - and has not collected, a paycheck - during his three+ yrs of service as President - despite the fact that unemployment was at it's lowest in history, stock market was at it's highest, and many other record setting positive issues - before this viral outbreak from China... That still place credibility - in a 2000 yr old superstitious religious belief system - with no concrete proof of existence, to date... That political correctness - is more important than truths or facts... That "Freedom of speech" - only means saying "nice" things - and that anything else - is hate speech, and not socially acceptable... That the imasculation of the American male - isn't happening...and that it's okay to have drag queens reading stories to your children, and it's okay to get your child sex re-designation surgery. I've barely scratched the surface - of a rotting carcas. I've watched the issues that were once Taboo - Get shoved down our throats on a daily basis, in movies, television series, the media, music, and public speaking - and then get called names, like bigot, racist, xenophobe, and homophobe - because I don't agree with the "normalization" - of sexual deviances - and choose not to associate with the mentally ill - who practice these deviances! I cannot watch a single program on Netflicks it seems, without having two men kissing or having sex - being shown. Or trans, or lesbian activity as well! Meanwhile, pedophilia is downplayed - and pedphiles run for public office! Movie stars and famous musicians, comedians and talkshow hosts - continue to badmouth our elected President - and spew their own opinions, as unquestionable facts - and not the mindless drivvle they truly are. Only the shallow and petty sheep who make up their fan bases - are stupid enough to follow and believe their bs propaganda, but unfortunately - innocent children are susceptible to this type of crap as well, and are influenced negatively as a result. And this virus? Pales in comparison - to the spread of stupidity that is engulfing our society today! There is NO solution - to greed... No solution - to the Human condition... No solution - to Human nature... And no cure - for "stupid." We can treat the symptoms tho... With old school education. It starts in the home... With parents! Teach your children about respect - vs common courtesy. Teach them about compassion - when it is warrented. Teach them basic life skills - like cooking, cleaning, and the use of tools. Teach them about honesty and integrity - and the importance of dignity, vs false pride and inflated self-worth. Teach them to know the difference between right and wrong - and why what's right is right, and what's wrong is wrong! Teach them - by being good role models, and not exposing them to adult bad behavior - that they will copy and perpetuate! Teach them to judge an individual - by that individuals words and actions - and not societal stereotyping, or color of skin, or gender. Teach them not to perpetuate stereotypes - by not engaging in the behaviors and activities, that cause those stereotypes! And please...teach them how to use a manual can opener! YOU, mom... YOU, dad... It ALL starts...with YOU! We are NOT all created equal... And equality, can never exist - until we understand this. Some are born rich - some are born poor. Some are raised - some are just reared. Some are smart - while too many are stupid. Some "get it" - some don't. Which are you? What will your children be? Think about it... Read about it... Google it... Then...fix it. I have faith in you... Don't disappoint me...or your children. And maybe, just maybe... This world... This country... Your neighborhood... Can become a better place. 😉🇺🇸

Governor lifts stay-at-home order; eases library restrictions

Yesterday, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer lifted the stay-at-home order and the order that closed libraries across the state. This new executive order (2020-110) allows libraries to reopen, subject to guidelines established in several executive orders.
Our outside dropbox is OPEN, effective immediately, and patrons are encouraged to return their items, including MeLCat items.

Please be patient with us as we slowly navigate reopening. We are just as excited as you are, but there are many pieces that need to fall into line and it will take some time. Staff will return on-site next week to check-in returned materials, process new materials, ready the building, train on new procedures, and prepare for curbside service.

“We know that our community is excited to return to the library, and so are we! We're working hard to adjust the logistics of our phased reopening with this surprise announcement, and appreciate your patience. We have missed seeing all of you, and look forward to beginning curbside service in the next few weeks,” ADL Director Cynthia Stanczak said.

We will continue to phase in services gradually, consistent with executive orders, OSHA & MIOSHA standards, and public health guidelines. The health and safety of our patrons and staff is our highest priority, so please expect some new procedures when the library reopens.

Please watch our website and Facebook page for updates. More details about how curbside service will work at ADL will be shared in the coming days.

There is a different level of knowledge to gain in their new career jobs that have not been thought in college classrooms. So, be prepared to be students again when necessary and embrace team work if it already wasn't a previous requirement. A lot shall be impacted onto them that will make them much better employees. Also, they should not be afraid of allowing their dreams or plans be it career or life come to reality. It's the real world now, stop talking about it in the head, start doing it. Nothing can be impossible to achieve when there is that relentless determination to succeed.
