Albion Public Schools were annexed with Marshall Public Schools in 2016. This was a difficult decision. Much of the newly enlarged school district is about 12 miles from Albion.

We recently became aware that another one of our students at Marshall High School tested positive for COVID-19. We were notified today, September 8, 2020 by the Calhoun County Public Health Department that the test came back positive. At this time, it has been determined that both of these cases are not associated with each other and both originated from outside of Marshall Public Schools. Read the attached letter for more information. ... See MoreSee Less

When someone at a factory, store or any other work place test positive 99% of the work places only send the ones who have had direct contact with said persons home for quarantine in addition to those who tested positive. Why would or should schools run any differently?
Some of you have doctorate degrees....you should've know this was coming. Prayers go out to everyone.
Well they were notified September 7th Monday not the 8,Tuesday. And how can they be sure that both cases are not related.
I appreciate the notice and all that MPS staff is doing for our children. I send my children in person and I knew this was a possibility and I'm not surprised by it. Our children can get it from anywhere, stores, restaurants, from us parents who work outside the home or do the shopping, I'm simply not surprised.
Everyone is doing the best they can with facts they have at the moment. Please give some grace for our educators who want the best for all.

One of the many beauties of teaching at a small college - the United Methodist Church gave my students and I access to their large hall so we could take a break from the hyflex arrangement and all be together for class while still socially distancing.

Albion District Library will remain closed for the next several weeks as we work with our insurance company and licensed contractors to address the water damage and mold that was discovered in late August. More information will be shared when the discovery phase is completed and remediation timelines are available.
Patrons are encouraged to visit and check out items from OverDrive, our digital collection, and asked to hold all returns, as staff are not onsite to empty the drop boxes. Library card expiration dates and item due dates have been extended until 10/15/2020. Curbside service will not be offered during this closure.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but the health and safety of our staff and patrons, and the well-being of the library facility itself, are our highest priorities. ... See MoreSee Less
